MEETING CALLED TO ORDER: PRESIDENT JEANIE KLOPP

GUESTS:  MR STEWART WALKER, MR JERRY ATCHISON, CITY MANAGER, AND LATRELLE JOY, CITY COUNCIL

MRS JOY REPORTED THAT AREA OF THE TRAILER PARK IS A STUDENT HOUSING PROJECT.  THE PROBLEM OF THE TRAFFIC THRU WHISPERWOOD SHE WILL ADDRESS WITH THE CITY.

MR ATCHISON HAS BEEN WITH THE CITY ABOUT 3 WEEKS AND HE GAVE US SOME OF HIS PERSONAL BACKGROUND.  LUBBOCK IS ABOUT 229,000 TO 250,000 POPULATION BUT IS A STAND ALONE CITY.  HIS PLANS:

  1. KNOW HIS STAFF
  2. FINANCE AND BUDGET
  3. PLANNING – FUTURE OF AND WITH THE PEOPLE OF LUBBOCK

PUBLIC SAFETY: THERE ARE 20 NEW POLICE OFFICERS THIS YEAR, WILL ALSO HAVE COMMUNITY POLICING OFFICES

CITIZEN TOWER: SHOULD BE FINISHED THIS SUMMER AND STILL IN BUDGET.

MR WALKER DOES A GREAT JOB FOR US AND THANK YOU.

SECRETARY REPORT:  PRISCILLA ELLIOTT, READ AND APPROVED

TREASURER REPORT:  TERESA PEACOCK & KENNY VENABLE

EXPENSES DOWN FROM LAST YEAR MAINLY DUE TO THE POOL EXPENSE.  HIGHEST EXPENSES WERE YARD MAINTENANCE, PERSONNEL, UTILITIES, AND POOL.

INSURANCE IS LESS AND MORE COVERAGE.

5 PROPERTIES PAST DUE AND 2 UNDER LIENS.

DENNIS GARRETT: THE PROBLEMS WITH FENCES.  VOTED TO TAKE $10,000 TO BEGIN THIS PROJECT. MOTION MADE BY MR. DOLLAR, 2ND.

POOL: THE HOURS WILL BE 1:00 UNTIL 9:00 P.M.,EXCEPT TUESDAY AND THURSDAY WHICH WILL BE 1:00 UNTIL 9:00 P.M. THERE WILL BE SENIOR SWIM ON WEDNESDAY MORNING 10:00 A.M. UNTIL 12 NOON. IF THE POOL KEY IS LOST, THERE IS A $10.00 COST TO REPLACE.
